Principal Terri Martin brings over 13 years of educational leadership and a passion for student success, driving excellence and innovation throughout our school.
Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,
Welcome to Hawks Rise Elementary, where we are committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging educational environment for all students. As principal, it is my honor to lead a school that prioritizes academic excellence, innovation, and the overall well-being of every student.
Hawks Rise Elementary School, located in Tallahassee, Florida, opened its doors in August 1995 with 383 students under the leadership of Penny Brinson. Since then, our student body has more than doubled, evolving into a high-achieving school with a richly diverse community. At Hawks Rise, we wholeheartedly embrace this diversity and are dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of all our students. Today, I am honored to lead our faculty and staff as we prepare our students for success in middle school and beyond.
I encourage you to stay connected with our school through this website, social media, and our regular communications. Your involvement is essential to the success of our school, and we look forward to working together to create an exceptional educational experience for all students. School Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.
Breakfast: 7:45 a.m. - 8:25 a.m.
Supervision Hours: 7:45 a.m - 3:15 p.m. -
Safety is our top priority. We have secure campus entry points, regular emergency drills, and on-site staff trained in emergency response. Our visitor management system ensures that all guests are signed in and monitored. We use PikMyKid which allows us to keep the kids inside the classroom during dismissal. The parent uses an app to “announce” and the teacher will send the student to parent pickup.

Registration is straightforward and can be done online or in person at the school office. Required documents include proof of residence, birth certificate, and immunization records. Please contact our Registrar, Brenna Ritter at Brenna.Ritter@leonschools.net

We welcome family involvement! Parents can volunteer in classrooms, join the PTO, participate in family nights, or attend school events. Your involvement strengthens our school community and supports your child's learning experience. Please visit our volunteer site to fill out the form needed to join our school as a volunteer.

Community Groups & Guests
Be Our Guest! - Hawks Rise Elementary
This group is designed to allow our school to interact with individuals who are not already directly connected to our students or the broader community. Please use this to create a "Guest" account in our system! Note: If you are a contact for a student who may not have custodial rights (Step-Parent, Grandparent, Relative, Guardian, etc. ), you will need to join this group before attempting to join any group through a shared QR code/Link from a teacher, athletic coach, or EDEP Director.
